Bringing Design to Life...

The new ASID slogan is about energy - for our professional organization, for our businesses, for our lives, for our clients, and for our Chapter.  ASID Connecticut has had an energetic history of strong leaders and member involvement; I invite you all to contribute to our continuing success.

Last March the Strategic Planning Committee created a blueprint for the year ahead, with our number one goal to “ensure that all ASID CT programs, services and communications optimize members’ experience.”  There are 28 Tactics to help us get there: a calendar of events, an organizational chart of leaders, and a budget to guide the way.  You’ll soon be able to review the entire strategic plan on our website but its outline is in this newsletter posting.

The Program Committee, under the leadership of Maggie Cole, Industry Partner Representative to the Board, is hard at work planning some innovative events for the year, covering a variety of topics and venues.  Our first chapter meeting of the year will be November 17, when we’ll tour the newly renovated Greenwich Library designed by Cesar Pelli.  Don’t miss this event, chaired by Ken Deck.  Watch the calendar for more upcoming events such as the Holiday Gala with IIDA in December, the second annual Fashion Show in April, and the new Design Forum, an educational and networking event in June.

How can you get involved?

When Alice Burnham first called me  …  just 6 years ago  …  about serving on the ASID CT Board, she said, “You’ll never regret getting involved in ASID.  It will enrich your business and your life.”  She was SO right!  You can make ASID worthwhile to you by getting involved, networking with others, and giving back to the community. I look forward to connecting with you via terry@tscarborough.com or 203/ 327-7008, ext. 315.

Together we’ll bring Design to Life.

Terry Scarborough, ASID, CMKBD
