The New Newsletter

The mail comes and there is that quick sort into piles – bills,  checks,  trash,  look-at-later.

How often are ASID mailings put into the last pile, only to be shuffled around, eventually skimmed and tossed?

In keeping with plans to have Chapter communications close, quick and relevant, ASID CT’s newsletter will be formatted for reading on the website without downloading.  Content will be scrollable, have links to related material, be printable, and be updated at least every other month.

My first task as incoming editor is to thank Gail Ingis, ASID for her many years of service crafting our chapter publication.  I promised I would step into her size X Birkenstocks when it came time.  Now, there is a confluence of change –

New editor, new web-posting format, new ASID graphics/branding  …

(Oh boy, what did I just step into?!?)

So, there is a lot of change in store, all of which is intended to keep you, the ASID CT member in touch with your peers, our Chapter, and the Society.  I’ll need to work through formatting problems and bring more quality to each issue, but with this premier edition, I hope you find the format quick and concise.

Keep visiting www.ASIDCT.org and sign up for the Administrator’s E-mail service; newsletters, FYIs, Member Alerts will be sent as either attachments or links.  Future issues will be a Special Student Edition and, of course, be an Awards Edition highlighting this year’s great Annual Meeting at The Inn at Longshore with Albert Hadley.  I would like to do some thematic publications: green design, lighting, whatever, so send me your ideas for topics or just write an article that might fold into a future edition.

I welcome your feedback.  I can be reached by kim121@earthlink.net, 203/ 380-9189 (vox and fax) or you can send an anonymous comment to 121 Morningside Drive Stratford, Conn.  06614.
