Farewell to my Readers, the Interior Designers and Architects of the ASID Connecticut Chapter

It is bittersweet for me that I am leaving as your editor of this newsletter.  Thank you for the terrific experience.  The past eight years have been educational, enraging, entertaining, and a joy.  Perhaps my mastery of alliteration will help me in writing my textbook.

A special thank you to my wonderful committee members who I have grown to admire and respect, Maggie Cole, IP, Lorraine Davis, ASID, and Kim Plavcan, ASID.  Each one has given me great support and has been so fabulous to work with.  Others worthy of a gracious thank you are Alex Lanuk, ASID, Terry Scarbourgh, ASID, Judy Swann, ASID, Linda Scinto, ASID, Julianne Stirling, ASID, Lynda Saraceni, ASID, John Arabolos, ASID, Alice Burnham, ASID, Martina Doshan, ASID, Karen Erickson, Allied Member ASID, and all the chapter presidents, volunteers and members I’ve had the great pleasure to work with.  My best to you in all your design endeavors.  Of course, I must also thank my students, who are always so eager to work and participate.

Although I have enjoyed being an information gatherer, discoverer and explorer, when Kim offered to take over the job, I was grateful.  My professional life has veered its course.  Aside from being a full-time artist, I also teach at two universities and am writing a textbook.  The book will be for the interior design profession, as it will be written as an interior design/architectural bible for all to use, from student to accomplished professional.  The title is still being reviewed; the subject matter is the history of architecture and interior design from Egypt to present, and will be all-inclusive from architectural exteriors to interiors and the decorative arts.  Together with my publisher, we will be sure to keep the book current by updating every few years.

Should any need arise to talk or discuss editorial or writing issues, please feel free to touch base with me.  Again, thank you for everything.

Past Editor, Gail Ingis Claus, ASID
